Super fun cross country trails are waiting. So say hello to Giant’s XTC 27.5 2. A lightweight ALUXX aluminum frame offers low weight with laser-sharp handling and explosive acceleration. Add to that the speed and control of 27.5-inch wheels equipped with high-quality Schwalbe tires, and you can understand why this XC rocket is the perfect steed for hitting the dirt. The XTC is equipped with a 100mm RockShox Recon Gold fork, and a 2x10 Shimano drivetrain with Shimano hydraulic brakes for the ultimate in riding performance. You also get a selection of Giant's Connect components which keep rider comfort high during long days in the saddle.
27.5-inch wheels (also known as 650B) offer the best characteristics of 26- and 29-inch wheels for an outstanding ride.
Efficiency: Increasing the wheel diameter decreases the angle of attack (the angle at which round objects meet square objects). The lower the angle, the easier it is to roll over obstacles and maintain momentum.
Traction: With a larger diameter, the tire's contact patch increases, putting more rubber on the trail. A 27.5-inch (650B) has nearly the same contact patch as a 29er for superb acceleration, braking and cornering.
Weight: The weight of a 27.5 wheel, tire and tube is only 5% more than an identically built 26-inch wheel. Compare this to a 12% increase with a 29-inch wheel. Lighter wheels mean a lighter bike, and better climbing and acceleration.

Great XC handling!, Locking the fork mountain goat climbing, arrow while decending, not clumpsy, ride almost anything. i would like to recomend to change cassette(too heavy) right away.Make sure to trim cable covers to your personal needs(you'll find out simulating climbing). Personally...i will replace Crankset, Rear Derailleur and Cassette with Deore XT. Enough for ocassional racing. Get it!
